You're a true 90's kid if you remember these. Bubble backpacks. Do you?
I remember when I was younger, maybe around 8 or 9, having a bright pink inflatable backpack that i used to for everything. Lizzie McGuire even have one so they were obviously cool!
And now, look, ASOS Market Place have them on sale for £12. Yes, TWELVE POUNDS. I can hardly believe it.
While I've not noticed anyone wandering around with a big inflatable balloon strapped to their back, their has definitely been some sort of come back for the rucksack. They've been popping up all over,. People are now swinging bags over their backs instead of holding a big, messenger bag in the crack of their elbow.
Here's a look at some of the backpacks kicking around on the high street. Who knows, the decade of the 90s may be coming back into our lives. I hope so! Well, with the reunion of many of my childhood bands I'm loving this 90s revival already. 5ive anyone?
I never thought I'd see myself being tempted by a backpack for a long while, but I love the two from Topshop, especially the last one. It's a brown-grey colour with a contrast of suede, leather and a chain. It's so different from those cheesy backpacks you imagine from your childhood, so fashionable and smart.
The leather light grey one with the zip going down the middle, its just as classy and quite formal as opposed to the original 90s backpack. You wouldn't see someone wearing a smart dress, ready for work with a bright inflatable balloon like bag strapped to their back, would you? The first bag in the pyramid, from River Island, doesn't even look like a backpack - more of a fancy satchel! None of them wouldn't look out of place flung over the shoulder of a person wearing something along the lines of a smart, three quarter length dress.
Whereas the other three are more casual bags, they'd look lovely over an effortless outfit of disco pants and a top tucked in, that's for sure. The bright red one from BooHoo would 'jazz' up a plain outfit too with a pop of colour.
What do you think of the backpack-comeback?
